How do I get readers to like my blog in FaceBook?

Ever wonder how people with an uninteresting site manages to get three thousand, seven hundred eleven likes on their Facebook page?

Deciding that it was time to figure out just how bloggers were getting so many readers to like their sites, it was time to investigate and take a look around Facebook to see if there were any like exchange pages on Facebook.  Sure enough there were two that I discovered and joined, one being a group and the other just is readers exchanging likes in comments.  Unfortunately not everybody returns the favor but feels free to ask for the like but the ones who do is what is the most helpful.

In a previous post, click here to read more, I wrote about creating a separate Facebook account from my personal Facebook account.  This is helpful when groups and playing games, so that messages, likes and close friends does not get mixed up.  You can and will make a mess of your Facebook account in the begging until you get the hang of things, that is why it is strongly suggested that you try to keep everything separate from each other.

Since the start of using the Facebook exchange group, my Google Adsense and visitor rates have gone right through the roof in just a few short days.  This group here, Likes, is great for obtaining new Facebook, since Facebook's new policy will disable your friend request ability whenever you request to many friends and a certain number of people complain they do not know you.

The two following groups will accept your join request immediatly so that you can start posting your websites, facebook fan pages and other sites that you wish to share.

How you can have a Facebook Groups to promote your blog, website and business!

Approximately a year ago Facebook launched their option where you can create a group and add your friends to it.  The option can be profitably for a small business just starting out, especially since, when used in moderation, is a great way to freely advertise your business.  The downside, anybody can invite you to a group they created and use it to spam their business with but low and behold if you visit the Facebook Group Help Center, there is an explanation on how to leave that irritating group.  Later in this post I will explain how you can avoid receiving unwanted emails from these groups that you wish not to join and how you can select the groups that you would like to be notified when somebody posts to a favorable group that you created or joined.

Once you have created your group for your company and added the friends you wish to be members you want to now post to the group.  This is especially handy to use whenever a new post is created on your Google blog.  After a post is created all the members in your group will receive an email notifying them that the site you are promoting has been updated.  When doing this though, take into consideration that updating and posting to your group is going to cause you to lose your audience.  If posting excessively throughout the day make you think that you are drawing a large audience to your sight, you are wrong, it will only cause you to lose Facebook group members and friends.

Like myself, when I awaken in the morning to check my emails and see somebody added me to a useless group and than spammed it, the good news is, there is a way around that.  You can change the group settings in your Account Settings --> notifications --> Groups and select how you want to be notified via the groups.

Once you create your own private, join a group or are added to a group of interest, from there you have the option to setup how you want to be notified in the group individually.  As you can see from my settings above all notifications are disabled.  In my personal group, Ideas about starting a home based business from blogs, notifications are enabled.  This way people can add me to as many groups as they wish but notifying me of anything is useless.  Unfortunately, until Facebook finds a way for people to have the option to not be added to groups without their permission, you will have to go through and remove yourself from groups occasionally to quite often depending on the size of your Facebook friends list.

Several ways to receive visitors to your blog via facebook

Sunday I decided it was time to find new options to find ways to get more visitors to my blogs and it has been awesome!  First off, props to facebook for making it possible for us little people to get our blogs noticed, even if it is only 50-100 a day, that is better than 2-10 a day like before.

We know about the like buttons and share buttons you see on blog posts, you can read this post, "Going all the way, how to make the perfect social networking buttons for your blogs".  This post offers the script and how to add it to your blogger HTML.  That seemed to help me receive visitors, a little bit more but not much.  Now I went up to about 15-20 per day, this was not going to cut it so I decided to add a login button to my blog, success now I am up to 25-30 a day, yet....I needed more.

You can create Websites, applications and fan pages for your blogs/websites.  There is even more to facebook that many do not know about, getting into network blogs.  Not just simply posting the network blogs badge on your site and hoping that somebody clicks on it to follow but really interacting with it.  Networked blogs has a discussion board and if you want to watch your visitor count go up just by interacting back and forth than click here to interact on Network blog's discussion board.

You can post your blog on it and you may get a few hits but if you visit other blogs, leave comments, follow blogs that you haven't followed and do this daily your hits will go up.

Going all the way - Create your facebook app and promote your blog

Facebook is the largest and most popular with almost social networking sites out there.  Totaling a number of approximately 500,000,000 users, there are so many people, places and things that you can do with facebook, it can be mind boggling.

Interacting with facebook is one of the best and most successful ways in getting started with your business.  Interaction on any social network will get you started, even if you prefer myspace.  What is nice about facebook though is the type of interaction they have compared to other social networks, which is why it is #1 in social networking in the first place.  Facebook has application makers, games, chat, advertising, I could just go on and on.

A few of these FaceBook applications are, Networked Blogs, Social Plugins and Applications.  These are ways to promote your sites, each site seperatly and earn more visitors daily.  Setting them up is time consuming and you need plenty of patience, but the rewards are worth it.

Networked Blogs - Facebook has a blog network, different bloggers from all over networked together to read share each other's blogs.  Networked blogs also has a follow button that you can use to have readers follow your blog.

Social Plugins - Create your own button for your blog, like buttons, like boxes, facebook connect buttons and a few others.

Applications - Create your own application that people can use with facebook.  Farmville, petsville and many other are just naming some of the thousands of popular facebook applications that millions of users use daily.

FaceBook Login Button - Your own professional looking Facebook Login Button.  Enable users to login to your website/blog using the facebook connect button and get the look and feel of professionalism.

If you look in my sidebar you can see that I have started my own fan page for my Ideas about starting a Home based business from Blogs.  This is a great way to advertise to people, you can even send out broadcasts to users to visit your blog everytime you update your site.  My point is, if you haven't gone deep into facebook's applications, now is the time to do so if you need and want to become a successful business entrepreneur.

Advertising your blog with social networks - Adding share buttons to your posts

Adding a share button to your blog has to be one of the most important things needed when advertising your blog.  You can write ten posts a day but without a facebook share button, digg this or other social networking buttons your really not getting anywhere but maybe a lucky google search hit.

In past posts I mentioned different ways of advertising your blog through social networking that you will find useful but how you want to do it is even more important.  In blogger if you go to your layout and add a gadget, do a search for social network and there is a gadget that you can add to your blog that lists almost every single network that is available out there.

My favorite way is by integrating a comment gadget/widget in with my blog for comments.  Two that I have used with success are intense debate and disque.  When a user leaves a comment, they can share with their social network of their choice and are also able to leave a comment by connecting with facebook, blogger and a few others.

Facebook buttons and badges, like the ones you see in my side panels, are just as important as well.  The more you advertise through social networking, the better chances of being found by a reader doing a simple search in google or bing.

Make money while playing farmville on FaceBook

Facebook has been around for more than six years and is the most popular social network out there. Most of my family is on FaceBook, my mother, sister's and cousins.

Of course, those of you who may already know about facebook may have even tried out a few of the addicting games, such as FarmVille and Mafia Wars.  These are two of the most popular of the many free social network games that FaceBook has to offer.

How do you make money you ask? As I have mentioned before, social networks are a great way to promote your site, interacting on facebook and playing the games makes it that much easier and even more fun.  As you make friends and get to know people you tell them about your blog, and of course being a social network butterfly themselves, they love the idea of chatting on other sites with their friends.
