Can using a custom google search on my website, blogger or even in a blogpost be beneficial?

You may have noticed the option Google offers for using their search engine for different uses, such as, for searching the entire world wide web, only your blog/website or a choice of search options you would like the reader to discover by setting up a choice of sites that will show up when the user does a search.  How can you make this beneficial to you or even waste your time setting one up when it feels as if nobody is using it.

If your site is one that is offering a large variety of games, wallpapers or website skins, it is obvious that having the option of allowing the user to search your site for what they need makes the Google Custom Search useful.  Google search engine does earn revenue in the same way that you earn revenue from Google adsense and YouTube videos through the advertisements.  The question is, how can a regular blogger like ourselves find use of a custom Google search engine?  It almost seems useless to have it on your site, that is not the case and let me explain an example of how a custom search can be profitable and work for you in just a simple blog post.

A few days ago prior to this post on my personal blog, Elizabeth's Miscellaneous Topics,  I created a post called: The trick of digging up dirt on somebody at no cost, explaining how you can do a search for people, free of charge, using Google's search engine.  In that post is a Custom Google Search engine at the end giving the reader the option to try out the topics that I am speaking about.  If you have not visited the link than here it is again so that you can get a better understanding of what I am talking about before reading on in this post.

As you can see the search engine is available right in the blogpost and people can now do a search.  What is neat about that post is that it is also has people try out my suggestion of doing a search for "Elizabeth's Miscellaneous Topics".  This will also make a possiblilty of that blog coming up in Google's Trends if enough readers try it out.

Ways to earn from your Google blog

There are a few ways you actually earn money from your blog.  If you ever noticed that sometimes you have a few pennies here and there on some days and than non on others?  This is because somebody left you a comment and depending on the blog the comment can be worth more.  The higher the page rank of your blog, the more the comment is worth, although, I am unsure of the exact amount.

Another way that you earn money from your Google blog is, each time a reader follows your blog.  This, of course, also depends on the page rank of your blog.  If you blog does not have a rank of any type, then you will not earn and the lower the rank the less the money.  Nobody is exactly sure of how much you earn since it probably depends on topics, advertisements and other Google terms of earning on your site.

Now you ask, how do I get a higher page rank?  Well you need to receive comments and visitors to your blog.  For every 1,000 actual visitors your page rank will go up, and for every so many comments left on your blog, your rank will also increase.  Now how do you get visitors to your blog is the next question, social networking is one way.  Unique topics is another way and if you can think of a topic before anybody else and it ages this will possibly give you leverage in being found via a Google search.  Another way to earn is having interesting topics on your blog and receiving click through.  Each time somebody clicks a link to another topic on your blog, you will earn and of course this depends on your blogs page rank.

Through out my blog are various topics on how I have received visitors to my blog, with a little hard work and reading of course, but it works.  Everything here is free of charge so feel free to use anything and good luck!

Other ways to use Videos to promote your blog

You can have your great big video advertisement bumper sticker on your blog with the ads to go with it.

My post on My Wikis about using CoComment and Intense Debate together so you can use FaceBook connect along with leaving a comment with a YouTube Video. They work together quite well. CoComment keeps track of your comments and with the FireFox CoComment add-on. I like being able to keep track of my comments and the past few days I've left quite a few and it helps as much as having a decent page rank.

Subscribing to YouTube gets you noticed. I posted a video months ago but wasn't really using YouTube for anything until the past few weeks. When using the YouTube videos people seem to find you faster. Suddenly I am getting invites to subscribe to users but also subscribing and commenting on other videos also helps.

People make videos because they want to be noticed for what ever reason and once you upload enough movies and get enough comments you can be approved for YouTube Adsense for your videos. Sometimes I think about carrying a digital camera around with me and capturing the screwed up things the police do in my area. Then I would have to move far away, change my name and hide for a very long time.

If you notice how most of the time channels do not let you embed their YouTube videos. NBC and other stations do this and for a reason. You can actually go to their sites and get videos that enabled web site embedding.

Is embeding a NBC video on my blog the same as pirating?

No it's not just like when a company gives you a free pen with their logo or a radio station passes out bumper stickers and t-shirts. It's free advertising, people read t-shirts and you remember the company name on that pen your writing with.

NBC, CNN, FoxNews and many other sites provide the free blog embeding and provide a link on the video so you can visit their site. Running a blog of your own you notice the google ads now, even probably look for them. You will notice that some of these sites have google adsense and you will notice also that NBC ads are running on blogs that are displaying a NBC video.

On twitter a new follower had posted a link to their YouTube account, here is one I thought was cute.
